The School of Materials Science and Engineering (MSE) at UNIST pursues a path to become a leader in materials science and engineering field, on the basis of strong academic program, highly regarded faculty, and qualified potential students. The mission of the MSE is to provide our graduates with high-level of education and research experience in order to prepare them to meet the expert needs of academia, industry and national labs when it comes to scientific and engineering issues related to materials science and engineering.
The MSE aims to build strong programs to strengthen the research and education for emerging advanced materials and imminent industrial innovation, and, thus, offers two academic tracks for in-depth educational instruction; Advanced Materials Science (AMS) and Nano Materials Engineering (NME). In an effort to make pioneering advances in materials research, the current research and interests within the MSE ranges from the pure, fundamental science of advanced materials to applied science and engineering, production and utilization of nano materials.
Our goal is to address the emerging scientific and engineering needs of the materials science and engineering field and to strive to build one of the world-class MSE programs, having close relations to industries.
With gratitude to my faculty colleagues and to students, I look forward to establishing excellence in our education and research.
