Dear Students,

We hereby announce fall 2020 operation plan as follows.
Please read carefully of following announcements.

With the decision made by Infectious disease committee, operation plan for fall 2020 has been decided.
Details are as follows.

1. Plan for Major and Liberal Arts courses
A. Lecture: Real-time Online class (Using BB Collaborate, ZOOM)
B. Lab/Experiment should be taught online, but can have additional below two options
- Offline lab experiment is available at the end of the semester (Student dorm will be opened)
- One-day lab experiment is available (Student dorm unavailable)
C. Exam operation will be same as Spring 2020(Proctoring System will also be provided)
D. Grading Criteria should be written on the syllabus 

2. Plan for fundamental courses
A. If there is only one section, the course should be taught in online.
B. Lecture: If there are more than 30 students per section, it should be taught in online.
- If there are more than 2 sections with students less than 30, online section / offline section can be operated separately.
C. Lab/Experiment: If there are more than 20 students per section, it should be taught in online.
- If there are more than 2 sections with students less than 20, online section / offline section can be operated separately. 

3. Graduate School Courses
A. All classes are recommended to taught in online, but if the classroom can accommodate 2 times more than the capacity, it can be taught offline.  

4. Remarks
- Subject to infectious disease circumstances, the teaching method and instructions may change.

According to above guideline, each course professors will revise the syllabus,
and for students to have full information of courses, we would like to revise course registration schedule as follows.
Also, 2nd period for academic return has also been revised and students who applied to academic return within 2nd period can also participate in regular course registration period.

In addition, please refer to following announcements.

1. Change in grading criteria for Lab/Experiment courses
- For Lab/Experiment courses, grading criteria can be temporarily changed to S/U grading. If changed, you can find changed criteria through syllabus, portal ’Preliminary course registration, course opening info, course registration menu’ (From next Thur~)

2. Operation of Offline lab experiment
- Make-up Period: Dec.21st(Mon) ~ Jan.1st(Fri), 2021 (2 Weeks)
- It can be operated as one-day makeup class due to different chracteristics of each courses.
- Offline makeup class will only be opened for courses that have been approved during the designated period for infection prevention. Will be announced via syllabus and can check after next Thursday.

3. Exam Operation
- Mid-term/Final Exam method will be announced via syllabus in advance.
- (Mid-term Exam) No test or substitution, (Final Exam) Real time online exam and On&Offline exam taken simultaneously options will be added to Mid-term exam method. Above things are recommended guidelines, and detail exam methods will be announced through each course professors.
- Misconduct reporting center will also be operated as spring 2020. Please be honest in all your studies.

4. In case of patients with definitive diagnosis & suspicious and isolated patients occur among students taking offline course
- Action plans will be distribute afterward.

5. Attendance/Register guidelines for Patients with definitive diagnosis & Suspicious and Isolated Patients
- Below guidelines for Spring 2020 will also be applied in Fall 2020

. Plan for Patients with Definitive Diagnosis

Guidelines for Academic Leave
Apply for academic leave of illness* during the treatment period. For application, submit evidential documents** of definite diagnosis to the school office.
(New students(Freshmen, new students in Graduate school) can also apply for academic leave of illness.)
Students who can’t receive evidential documents should first apply for general academic leave and submit documents when prepared.
* Will be permitted in 1 semester unit. Academic leave due of illness period will not be counted in the period of general academic leave.
** Written Diagnosis, Notification of isolation (by public health center), Airline ticket (for visiting Hubei), etc

Guidelines for Attendance
Isolated treatment should be continued till full recovery. After recovery if you are able to attend at least 3/4 of class hours, your absence period will be acknowledged as attendance.
*(Procedure) Excused Absence: Submit ‘Request for Attendance Approval’ to the course instructor
(Class Management) Make alternatives for classes such as submitting report, etc. during or after isolated treatment period to minimize loss of class hours.
 

. Plan for Suspicious and Isolated Patients

Guidelines for Academic Leave
Academic leave period will not be counted in the period of general academic leave.
(Suspicious Patients) When placed under quarantine and are not able to attend at least 3/4 of total class hours, you may apply for academic leave by submitting evidential documents.

(Family of Patients, Visitors to Abroad countries, Patients who have children in Need of parental protection) : Considering the period, if you are not able to attend at least 3/4 of total class hours, you may apply for academic leave by submitting evidential documents*.
* Evidential Documents: Written Diagnosis, Notification of isolation (by public health center), etc.

Guidelines for Attendance
