PnC lab의 주요 연구분야는 나노탄소(탄소나노튜브, 그래핀 등)와 다양한 나노필러 등을 이용하여 높은 기계적물성과 기능성을 가지는 고분자나노복합소재를 개발하고 극한환경에서 이용할 수 있는 기계적물성을 가지는 차세대 탄소섬유를 개발하는데 초점이 있습니다. 나노복합소재 물성향상은 단순하게 나노필러를 포함시키는 방법이 아닌 나노필러와 계면의 고분자 간에 상호작용을 화학적/물리적 방법을 이용하여 최대한 도출하여 새로운 특성을 가지는 소재를 개발하고자 합니다. 또한 기계적 물성의 향상 외에도 기능성 소재를 개발, 에너지 전환/저장 소재 분야로 연구를 확장해 나가고 있습니다.
