친환경 에너지 신소재 연구실(Sustainable Energy Materials Laboratory)에서는 재생 가능한 전기 에너지를 활용해 고부가가치 화합물을 합성하는 소재와 소자를 연구합니다. 반도체 및 도체 기반의 유기, 무기 및 유무기 하이브리드 전기 촉매를 다양한 공정으로 제작하며, 이를 바탕으로 이산화탄소 전환을 촉진하는 미생물 대사 과정을 활성화하거나 폐플라스틱을 해중합하여 고부가가치 화합물(예: 바이오플라스틱, 유기산, 화학연료, 바이오연료, 방향족 분자)을 생산하는 연구를 수행합니다.
